The Old Me

Sorry for the gap in posts. School and work combined is slowing me down a lot, both physically and conceptually. And perhaps mentally. Anyhow, I sat down today with idea of drawing one of my professors at college, a music historian and practitioner (figured I'd make it sound exciting so you'd be all 'Ooooo...impressive'.) I got the general idea down, but I couldn't quite make the face shape right or the eyes do just what I wanted. And then the thought came to me..."This looks somewhat like me...why not draw an 'old me'?" (Yet another one of my terrible puns...)
It was another hairbrained scheme, but I really like how it turned out. And it only took about 90 minutes to make the whole thing come together. Hopefully this is good filler for the gap between last post. I'm thinking of making a promise like a friend of mine did to post a picture once a week to stay on track.
So, if nothing else, expect one picture a week. We'll see if I can't be inspired to raise the bar.

"Watch Out for the Sneak Attack Boss Battle!"

My bosses at work are always pretend feuding, trying to convince me that 'they' are better than 'the other'. So I decided to depict it, this 'fake rivalry', for even I, in all my years of life, know how to detect tomfoolery. At first, I was going to go for a James Bond type theme, but it wasn't working out. Then one of them suggested that I give it a superhero angle. That seemed to turn out a little better, and here's the end product. A lot of planning and worrying over about 2 hours of actual work. Hope they like it. Hope you like it too.

Famous People Who Are Actually Kinda Cool #2

I can't really say that I've seen a movie with Morgan Freeman in it that I didn't enjoy. Of course I haven't seen all of his movies, but I'm working on it. I'm not really sure what else to say other than he's got one of the best voices in the world. Whether he's narrating something or just talking, I can't help but enjoy it. His presense onscreen always commands a certain respect since he's been doing what he does best for a long time. This picture is an homage to him and all the great acting he's brought to us. Way to go Morgan. This one's for you.

Inspiration Cometh

This one was inspired by two songs: "Collect Call" by Metric, and "Believe Me Natalie" by The Killers. I just enjoy both songs and thought I could incorrporate elements from both songs into a picture (i.e. phonebooth = Collect Call.) I don't know...it makes sense to me in my head. It doesn't have to have a deeper meaning to you, although I do reccomend you listen to both songs for the full effect of the picture. This, again, was a quick one. Sometimes I'm inspired. Most times...I'm not. This is a product of one of those inspirational times. If you're not already asleep with this explaination, enjoy the picture.

Can't promise I'll have more as soon as these, but I'll try.

Oh, No!

Ha! It would seem I've followed up on my word to try to have new pics quicker...at least this week, anyway. It's hard to come up with good ideas sometimes, and then doubly hard to actually portray what you're thinking in your head. Today's wasn't that hard to whip out, and I must say I'm quite impressed with myself. I usually hate to toot my own horn, but the idea was there...I drew it...colored it...and posted it, all within about 3 hours. Stayed with it until the end, if you will.
The reason why today's was so easy to put onto paper is because it's quite fresh in my mind. It comes from an inside joke that I share with a girl at work. Don't ask me to explain how it came about, 'cause I couldn't do it justice. It most came from playing off one another, adding to what the other person had just said. Anyway, I had more fun drawing this one than almost every other one I've done. Ever.
And if said girl stops by to see this, let me know what you think. You'll get it.

We'll see if I can't get more out as quick as this one.

Sorry for the Wait, Folks...

I can't believe it's almost been two weeks since my last post. Time flies when you're having fun...or have to work. Please forgive me for such a gap. I'll try harder. Anyway, I don't know what to say about today's pic other than I seem to like drawing pregnant women. I don't know why...just their shape is so...odd. And fun to draw. I'm not entirely sure where the idea for this one came from...just that it came. Hope it was worth the wait. Like I said, I'll try to have some more on soon.
And yes...that is a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Pregnancy can be so weird sometimes.
