I got bit by a bee today while mowing the lawn (I can't find a stinger, so I assume it was a bite). Probably would've been worse if hadn't noticed the 50 more swarming out of the ground where I'd just mowed. Sometimes the strangest things can inspire you. Here's a nicer version of the bee that got me. They always seem to be portrayed as deadly or scary, but I'm sure he just bit me because he was protecting his underground hive.
Oh, well.

Friends I Have Known #5
There aren't really any adequate words to describe this guy, except for awesome. And bearded. I don't see him very often, 'cause he moved away. But he makes me laugh so hard. And he has an awesome beard. Hope I can pay enough homage with this triffle of a picture...compared to the real person.
La la la la later.

A View of What's to Come
Here's a quickie I did to preview a more in depth picture that is yet to come, probably later in the week sometime. It's kind of creepy, I know, but there is an explaination for the creepiness, which you learn earlier on next week.

Until then,

Friends I Have Known #4
This one was definatly a big undertaking. I wasn't sure at first how to do it, since the person it's after presents so many possibilities. She'll understand what I mean if she reads this post. As for everyone else, I'll just let you view it and draw your own conclusions: the true meaning behind it is between her and I.

A Showcase of Bands #1
Today's picture is showcasing the band MUTEMATH. They are probably my favorite band at the moment, and I wanted to capture all the craziness that they put into their music and live shows. I thought the perfect format for this was low gravity, since they like to jump around on stage and cause everyone to really get into their performances. And with the powers of Photoshop, I was able to not only color it but also change up the presentation a bit.
Here was the original format: more evenly spaced with minimal collision.

By Request
This is just a color version of a pic posted during the "Barrage from the Past" entries. My family seems to like this picture the best out of all the ones I've come out with so far, and they keep badgering me about coloring it. So I did. And I think it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.
As a refresher...here's the original:

Mustache Pwn
Here's a sketch I did at school. It was originally supposed to resemble Sam Eliot, but as you can see...it quickly morphed into something else. I guess you could still say that it is Sam but only if he were in a noir-esque western/ghost movie. I think he's the only person who can effectively pull off the mustache without looking like a total wannabe.
Anyway, here's the original, with help done to the moon 'cause I colored it too dark.

A Barrage from the Past: Day 8
Here's my Art100 level self portrait. It was done last year, and even from then, I can see how my skill has progressed. I've learned to do a few things better, though it's always an ongoing process. I had a lot of fun doing this one for class. I've bumped a few things up: brightness and contrast and added Halftone Pattern.
And for my friend Issac who graduated today (and my most faithful comment poster besides)...congrats man. I was going to do a colored version of your sketch, but I remembered I gave you the original. I'll try to get something cool on here for you soon.

Huhwhahuh? #1
Some of you may be wondering what the title of this post means. The huhwhahuh feature just means that the picture of the day is something off-the-wall, funny, or random. They are all in good fun, and I'm not trying to poke fun at anyone. Today's huhwhahuh is a reference to a girl who was in my math class up at college. Sometimes she would ask very simple questions about something she didn't understand. Sometimes the questions were about what the teacher had just explain crystal clear. I don't know if she wanted attention or if she just wanted to get her math right. Whichever way it was, I'm 100% positive that here grade in math was much higher than mine. Much higher. This picture is dedicated to her.

That's Incredible!
Here's everyone's favorite superhero family. I was so disappointed to hear that they were making a Cars 2 instead of and Incredibles 2, but I'd rather have another crappy Pixar movie that I won't like anyway than be disappointed with a sequel I was expecting great things from. Pixar said they wouldn't make another Incredibles unless they had the right story. And I don't blame them: the first one certainly set the bar. I suppose it's for the best...but it doesn't hurt to hope.

Suited Alienman
This picture was inspired by 'The Day the Earth Stood Still.' Even I'll admit it was a slow storyline and it was very environmental, but when the trailer first came out, I was intriged by this guy in a suit that had alien superpowers. So I drew this.
The original was done in 2008. I recently colored it. So I guess it's another one of those 2008-2009 pics. Nevermind...
